Without form
but not void
In the beginning
there was a word
that my lips dare not speak
my mind dare not believe
my eyes dare not see
written on the walls of your lonely tomb
the tomb of an old thing
a thing you'd discarded but
never truly threw away

When I said,
You need to find
a new love to forget
an old, roughly severed tie
somehow I knew this day
would find me here
pleased to receive you
pleased to offer
the fortress of newness
the palace of things
you have not known
Excitement

Perhaps it is that
the fresh wound has clouded
your vision with a false sense
of euphoria
when pain lurks and lingers
seeping through the cracks you've scratched
leaking into the cuts I've inflicted
upon your perception- now foggy and misled
You think you feel
freedom
and release
from old chains, rusted and bleeding out your veins
tired and broken
released to find the silk ropes that I have woven
but bondage is bondage

Youth is wasted
on those that would throw away
the chance to feel
to be
more than what we are
more than what you think you need
more than what is real
We are an
idea
born of something I didn't think to search for
born of a heart caught in turmoil
meeting another caught in denial of a dead thing
You are... beautiful
and I think
that my words have run dry
What more can I say?
