Fire
possessing such power... such wonderous danger
consuming
corrupting
ruining all that is pure
all that is clean and cold
raging within and without
Once it has gone
once it has died
leaves behind
ashes
thin, fragile pieces
fragments of what once was
light and meaningful
On either side of this wall, stands
a towering image of a man
seemingly strong
seemingly controlling
a piece of the universe, vast
endless
Truly, these beasts
are formed
of skin and bones
flesh and marrow
pieced together with little pieces
sewn together with a thread
a thread, woven together by an overwhelming
weakness
What will become of us now
when all that I have dreamed has become
ashes?
And what will become of this new
face thrown into the peripheral of my
reflection?
this thing that catches the eye
with an initial attraction
a starting glance
a fleeting thing
a beginner's charm...
turned all at once to
weakness
thrown aside from my bed
he has become something
less
than I envisioned
at the start, when there was promise
potential
Indulgence
lacks creativity, lacks
attractive qualities bestowed
upon her elder sister,
sacrifice
What do you know of sacrifice?
What do you know of truth?
What do you know of fire?
Fire that burns away the threads
that bind your bones against your soul
that bind your dreams beneath your skull
You know nothing of love
